Profile overview
Alucard embraces the name monster, but his obedience to Integra complicates any idea that raw power makes him free. He repeatedly asks for a clear order before releasing greater violence, placing a human command structure around abilities that could otherwise erase meaningful restraint.
His contempt is sharpest toward people who discard their humanity in exchange for easy power. That judgement is not moral innocence: Alucard enjoys battle and cruelty. It instead reveals a fascination with fragile humans who face death through conviction rather than trying to escape the condition that gives courage meaning.

Manga-versus-anime differences
Kouta Hirano's manga is the source continuity. Hellsing Ultimate follows its major conflict and structure much more closely, while the 2001 television anime develops an original latter half because the manga was unfinished during production.
The two anime versions therefore should not be combined into one event history. Their tone, antagonists and outcomes differ even though Joji Nakata voices Alucard in Japanese in both.
