Profile overview
Hououin Kyouma begins as theatre: a lab coat, invented conspiracies and phone conversations with nobody. The performance entertains friends and lets Okabe express care without ordinary vulnerability. When danger becomes real, the same persona can operate as courage, denial or a promise that the group still has a leader.
Responsibility changes when memory is not shared. Okabe retains awareness across altered world lines, giving him vital evidence while isolating him from people whose experiences have been rewritten. His persistence is heroic, but repeated private suffering also makes collaboration and sound judgement harder.
Rintarō Okabe is a university student who runs the Future Gadget Laboratory in Akihabara and performs the persona of mad scientist Hououin Kyouma. A seemingly useless invention becomes capable of sending messages to the past, placing his friends inside consequences only he may fully remember.
