Ignoring the threat is the survival strategy
Miko does not begin with an explanation, weapon or mentor. Her first defence is performance: she suppresses every visible reaction so the spirits surrounding daily life do not realise she can perceive them. That constraint turns routine conversations and school journeys into tests of attention and self-control.
Comedy releases pressure without removing danger
Hana's ordinary enthusiasm and Yulia's partial understanding create misunderstandings around experiences that Miko cannot safely explain. The humour depends on unequal perception, while the creature designs and Miko's private panic preserve the horror beneath each public interaction.
