Profile overview
Acidwire establishes that a Hollow can be both monster and bereaved person. Sora's love for Orihime was real, but after death it curdles into the belief that her life must remain centered on him. Protection becomes possession when he treats her friendships and recovery as betrayal.
Orihime resolves the encounter through recognition rather than denial. She does not excuse the attack, and Ichigo still has to protect her, but she remembers the brother inside the mask. Sora's final choice shows that purification can begin when a corrupted soul accepts that love cannot require another person to stop living.
Acidwire is the Hollow formed from Sora Inoue, Orihime Inoue's older brother and guardian. Sora rescued Orihime from their abusive parents and raised her until he died after a traffic accident. His spirit remained near her, but loneliness and resentment grew when Orihime formed new friendships and stopped praying to him every day. As Acidwire, he attacks Orihime and Tatsuki Arisawa, then fights Ichigo Kurosaki with an armored tail and corrosive projectiles. Orihime's memories and the hairpins Sora gave her restore part of his human heart, and he uses Ichigo's Zanpakutō to purify himself rather than continue hurting her.
