Manga versus anime
The manga uses Michiru in the school ensemble and later as an unconscious civilian during Aizen's pursuit through the real Karakura Town. It does not establish spiritual perception or a personal battle ability.
The anime expands her classroom visibility and includes her in additional school scenes and anime-original material such as the Beast Swords storyline. Those appearances add routine rather than a manga-canon power progression. Asami Sanada voices Michiru in Japanese.
