Adaptation notes
Manga versus anime
The manga gives Kanonji a focused introductory story and later brings him back for the real Karakura Town confrontation with Aizen. Spirits Are Forever With You is a separate licensed novel storyline with a much larger role.
The anime substantially expands Kanonji through Karakura Superheroes, Karakura-Raizer episodes and other original appearances. These adventures are useful for his performance history but are not manga events. Shigeru Chiba voices Kanonji in Japanese with the exuberant delivery central to the character.
