Adaptation notes
Manga versus anime
The manga presents Metastacia's attack through Rukia's Kaien flashback, emphasizing the destroyed patrol, the loss of Nejibana, possession and Rukia's final strike.
The anime expands the sequence by having Miyako apparently return before revealing the Hollow's control and by staging more of the patrol's final moments. That added suspense changes the order of events but not Metastacia's role in Kaien's death. Hōchū Ōtsuka voices Metastacia in Japanese.
