Profile overview
Kensei communicates through action, discipline and blunt criticism. His rough tone can sound impatient, but the defining event of his past is stopping to protect children during a dangerous mission. The rescue leaves a permanent mark on Hisagi, whose 69 tattoo honours Kensei's squad insignia.
Returning as captain does not restore the lost century. Kensei leads officers shaped by Kaname Tosen and Aizen's betrayal while carrying Hollow powers Soul Society once treated as evidence against him. His leadership is therefore practical: train harder, survive the next fight and rebuild trust through work.
Kensei Muguruma is the captain of Squad 9 in two different eras, separated by a century of exile. While investigating disappearances in Rukongai, he and his unit are forcibly Hollowfied through Sosuke Aizen's conspiracy.
