Manga versus anime
The manga places Driscoll's battle after Chojiro's funeral, allowing the stolen Bankai to reveal both the lieutenant's hidden history and Yamamoto's grief. It does not treat medallion access as equal to genuine mastery.
Thousand-Year Blood War intensifies the scale of the lightning and fire while preserving Yamamoto's judgment that the copied Bankai is weaker than Chojiro's. Nobuaki Kanemitsu's Japanese performance makes Driscoll's pleasure in his kill count deliberately abrasive.
