Manga versus anime
The manga uses Shrieker to introduce the Gates of Hell and the difference between cleansing Hollow sins and judging crimes committed during human life.
The television anime preserves that conclusion and expands the chase across several episodes. A much later Hell Verse tie-in episode brings Shrieker back as a Togabito, but that movie-promotional storyline is anime-original and should not be read as a continuation in the manga. Hisao Egawa voices Shrieker in Japanese.
