Manga versus anime
The manga stages Jirōbō's fight as a compact demonstration of Uryū's speed, accuracy and anger when an enemy deliberately targets Orihime. The destruction of Tsunzakigarasu leads directly to the disabling shots.
The television anime preserves the flying-blade mechanics and the outcome while extending portions of the exchange for action pacing. Kazuhiro Nakata voices Jirōbō in Japanese. Neither version reveals a Bankai.
